Whos team are you on?!

We live close to an MLS stadium now! Reese (who tries to keep up on MLS) asked us if he could go to the opening game, which was Real vs Seattle Sounders (his favorite team), since it was his favorite team AND the only time the Sounders were coming on a Saturday. We weren't sure, but when we found out we could get a discount on tickets through his soccer club, we went for it.
As in, RD and Reese went :)

They had a good time. They ran to and from the stadium to beat crowds, and Reese was giving RD a hard time about being not in as great shape as Reese, till Reese had to stop running back to the car. ha.
There was a full crowd, and they said it was a great fan group/audience, people were really into their teams and the game, and BYU and UofU fans were both cheering for Real. Reese didn't care he was surrounded by Real fans, yelling and cheering when Sounders made a goal.
In the end though, Real won 2-1. The guys met up with some old friends from back in Colorado, which was fun.

Reese came home bummed out 'his' team lost, complaining Clint Dempsey didn't do anything, and each time he's watched Sounders play Real the Sounders have lost. So I asked him why he was even cheering for Sounders?! We live in Utah now, he should cheer for Real!
Reese remained committed though, declaring he didn't want to be one of those turncoats that changes teams when they aren't doing well. RD asked why he even chose to cheer for Sounders to begin with, and Reese said Clint Dempsey, and a couple other players; 'but you said he didn't do anything! we live in Utah, you're at the Real stadium, they've won both times you've been there, moving is an ok time to change fan loyalty!"
did nothing to change his mind.
I don't get it, but I admire his loyalty.
