Heroes

The girls' elementary school recently had a 'reflections' contest, encouraging everyone to submit an artistic representation of heroes in our community. Grace and Aubree participated, and Aubree won an award of merit for her picture of firefighters fighting the forest fire just south of us. For her explanation, she wrote "The firefighter saves our country and saves people who are in the fire. They put out fire to keep people safe."

She was so happy to get some prizes! She carried the coloring book all around with her, eventually coloring off every speck of black onto the table, floor, chairs etc., until the pages fell off the binder. She still has the pages.
