For his big day, he had most of it planned out. He had our hot cocoa and toast for breakfast (notwithstanding being a june birthday), then played some minecraft with Grace.
Then came his party, 12-4:30pm. He wanted to go to the Christa McAuliffe Space Center, where they have a space mission simulation for 2 1/2 hours. He'd been before on a field trip, and it'd been pretty cool. "the best day of my life" kind of cool. We aren't the best planners, so a week before his party RD reserved it, and we got invitations out over the next couple days.
Unfortunately most of his friends invited had out-of-town plans that day, but by the time we found out it was too late to invite others, so Reese, Grace and RD subbed in to help. Grace was pretty happy about it. Reese and Grace struggled to understand the actors over the intercom and speaking in accents, but it was pretty fun.
When they got back we had cake, which Cameron decorated with oreos. In true Cameron style, he couldn't keep still or smile sweetly for the camera like he does all the time. Taking pics of this boy has been hard since he was born!
He asked for taquitos for dinner, but didn't eat much cause he wasn't feeling well. He'd been waiting and waiting for this day to watch The Last Jedi, but it wasn't quite out on Netflix yet, so we watched the Goblet of Fire. It's the worst movie in the series, but hard to skip when going through them, so he was disappointed in it, and in missing the Star Wars movie.
Not the best birthday yet, but he's the best 13 year old we know!
