Pets

These chicks have been the best pets for these girls. They mostly stay in their box in the pantry (Houdini has flown out several times), RD does everything to care for them, and the girls spend A LOT of time in there holding and petting their chicks. They are growing FAST though, and will fly out of their box into the pantry if we let them.

Turns out Emmie and Goldie, (Aubree and my chicks) are the most docile, Raven is next calmest, and Houdini is still pretty flighty. Aubree can even get Goldie to fall asleep in her lap, which she loves and is pretty adorable. Aubree says she has "magic" skills to get her to sleep. She says the same about her skills in getting Renée to sleep, so maybe she's just talented at all species.
They have a lot less luck with Oreo. Despite repeated attempts at slowly pursuing her, she remains elusive to any affection. So RD catches Donna to get some love.

The girls can pet her as she walks around now, and she's curious and friendly. Aubree is so excited to check for eggs everyday, and runs in to shout the great news whenever there is one! Unfortunately they keep laying them in the coop instead of the boxes, so she can't reach the eggs and is very impatient about getting them. Once we figure out how to get them to lay in the boxes, eggs will be a lot more fun.
