We got this great coupon from BYU for half off tickets to a show (love BYU!) and decided to take everyone to see Living Legends, their group that performs music/dance from the first peoples of the Americas and Pacific. When we told them they were going, Grace was happy enough, Bree always wants to go to anything, but the boys weren't too happy.
As we took our seats, the boys didn't look thrilled, but Grace and Bree were excited, and Bree ended up on my lap so she could see. She was anxious for the start, and kept asking how many minutes (fingers on her hand) we had left.
The show finally started, and it was awesome. The polynesian dances were the most rousing and crowd favorites, they were a lot of fun. It was fun to look down the row and see kids smiling. The girls thoroughly enjoyed it, Bree spontaneously clapping at dances. She kept asking me whether people were boys or girls, as many regalia aren't familiar to her. She asked lot of questions, whispering in my ear with her little hand cupped around it, she was pretty adorable. And kinda distracting. Cameron and Reese didn't appreciate the cheering from the guy right behind them who was super loud.
As we filed out with the masses and hurried in the cold (some of us not dressed for it ) to the car parked far away, we didn't get rave reviews. The day after though, Reese said it was good, and he'd even go to it again. He liked the polynesian dances the best. Cameron said he liked the show, just not the crowd, and his favorite dance was the New Zealand war dance with the sticks. I think that's the Maori haka and poi. Aubree still talks about how much she loved the "talent show". RD and I are always amazed by the Hoop Dance, but we love the whole night. And we love being near BYU, and RD working there. Have I mentioned that?
