Typically our church ward has a father's and sons camping trip that we make sure we free for every year. Grace usually complains and asks when she gets to go camping. This year, the ward decided to host a father/daughter camping trip due to popular demand. Grace cheered! The girls were stoked to go camping with me, RD. We haven't been camping with the girls since the bear incident last September, so we weren't sure how they would handle it once we got there. However, the camping site was actually right on the edge of town (as in you could see the town from our site) so it was easy to calm any fears about bear attacks. So, after packing all the gear in the Fiesta, we said good-bye to Mom and the boys and headed 15 minutes away. :) As soon as we arrived, Grace saw some of her friends and disappeared. I saw her for a total of maybe 20 minutes that night. However, Aubree stuck with me and helped me set up the tent, put the gear inside and get the sleeping bags set up.

Aubree was eager for an adventure so we went out looking for trouble. At this site there was a number of interesting things to explore.
We ended up finding a pond full of fish that had fish food near it. She loved feeding them and seeing them swarm. There must have been a good 75 trout, some at least 3 lbs.
That night was filled with hanging around a campfire, someone pulling out their guitar and the girls snuggled in. It was great. We slept "relatively" well, for a camping trip. That morning was a bit chillier than we expected and as the Bishopric served pancakes with fruit, the girls hung close by the fire.
When we drove home, they were excited to get back to a warm house, but I think they'd be up for another camping trip, maybe just not this year. :)
