Ready for the Weekend!

Last weekend was awesome. And this week was a blur of survival, as RD was gone. I really miss him when he's gone, and have a really hard time sleeping, so the week was a haze of trying to be enough for everybody while tired all the time.
But the red roses on the desk reminded me all week of the date RD and I had Friday night, making me happy through the hard week. RD surprised me with a trip up to Tabletop, where we celebrated the anniverary of our engagement. Including tealight ambience, our rock, and pudding. It was perfect. Sometimes (ok, almost always) it rocks to have a romantic as a spouse.

We went on a walk along the oregon trail with some friends, finding several geocahes. The kids were (mostly) happy, and had fun climbing the 2-4 ft columns by the memorial sculpture. Bree was especially excited to climb, and we had to drag her away.

RD's parents came into town, helping a friend move to Meridian. We got to hang out with them, and they taught us a fun new game. Grace and Reese flitted back and forth from the game to other distractions, but Cameron wanted to be on his own team and stuck it out, coming close to winning. Fun times! Gramp also brought some toys from a work conference, including a light-up ball and wells fargo stuffed horse that were the clear favorites. The kids loved it.

Memorial Day we visited R.D. and Nana's graves, and saw lots of other visitors, flowers, and flags. Thinking of R.D. leaving for four years, I was so grateful for all those who sacrificed for others. Just a few days was hard for me.
It'a amazing how quickly  his presence can recharge my energy, capacity, and patience!
