Alaska Day Festival

I think our town celebrates lots of stuff partly cause there's nothing else to do, and we all want to forget how dark it is.
The Alaska Day festival is a week of fun, and this year RD and I dressed up... though not in the period costume most were in. Since it's a big band, we went for the 50's (though I just couldn't figure out that wavy 50's hair). I think my favorite part was RD's hat. We got some weird looks, but it was very fun being able to swing dance.

The parade was fun as usual, and this year we went to the brief re-enactment of the transfer of Alaska from Russia to America. Cool to go to, but not that exciting for the kids.
