The Harbinger of spring for us here is the coming of the herring... eagles, gulls, and songbirds come back, sea lions and whales appear in large numbers, and we can smell the sea again. When we were driving along HPR we saw a few eagles coming down to the beach beside a pull-out in the road. Since they couldn't have made it more convenient, we pulled over and checked them out. Almost ten eagles were on the beach, arguing over some fish while the ravens tried to sneak pieces.

Beautiful pictures and what a wonderful sign of spring!
Great pictures. Much better than any of my tries last year.
