We got to have my parents come back for a day with my brother Dave, as a stop on their cruise, and it was SO awesome to see them and play tour guide for our town for Dave. We took everyone up to Castle Hill, where the Tlingit and then Russians used as a 'fort' site with it's great view of the area. Then we headed off to Totem park, which you have to see if you come to Sitka! It is celebrating 100 years of being a national park this year! Dave helped the kids reach huckleberries, the boys and grace played tag at the totem site of a Tlingit fort, and watched out for banana slugs (squishy to step on, ugh).
Grace keeps talking about Grandpa and cruise ships; we love having them come, but it is so sad to know what we are missing.

So fun! They look like they had fun to me as well! I've tried to talk Aaron into going on an Alaskan cruise. We'll see if he says okay sometime.
