Thanksgiving day we decided to do the 'Turkey trot' walk. While over a hundred runners lined up, we met up with a couple other people with kiddos and walked for a little over a mile along the harbor on an unusually sunny day! It was so beautiful we almost didn't mind the kids whining about having to walk. We spotted a few whales on the walk, so after the walk and some hot cocoa (yeah RD!) we headed over to Whale Park to see if there were anymore.

There were!!! Two pods were in Sitka sound, and several lucky boats were out on the water very close to the whales!!

We saw them dive, surface and blow for about 10 min, then dive and surface one more time before kids were too bored. It is so neat to see them from shore, we really hope sometime to be able to see them close from a boat. maybe one day! It was such a gorgeous day!
