The day after we started to move in, we went on the last Conservation Society boat tour, going through Sitka Sound around some nearby islands. It was a Gorgeous day, sunny and clear, sixties, and a perfect day for boating. This pic is a view of leaving Sitka.
We saw a bunch of sea otters, a sea lion, and some whales!!!! The coolest part of course was the whale; it was too fast to get a pic. RD and Reese saw one in the islands, and we all saw one several times in the sound. Once it came up about thirty feet away, it was so close, it was awesome. The boat's humming put Cameron to sleep for most of it, but he did get to see the animals!
The sun was setting as we got back to Sitka, blazing yellow then fading behind Mt.Edgecumbe and silhouetting the Japonski Island bridge, ending a beautiful day. We were left on the dock exclaiming with wonder, we live here!
Then it rained for the next whole week. We live here?!
