The older kids love when RD reads to Aubree, since he improvises or 'improves' the story with some silly, usually tragic, twists and turns. Aubree usually objects, and tells him to read the story the way it's written. We checked out the berenstain bears "too much vacation" book from the library, and it was good enough RD didn't have to elaborate. Probably because it's the only berenstain bear book he's seen that has Mama with an angry face, running with the family from a cloud of mosquitos. We can perhaps relate to their experience; our last 2 camping trips we've left early.
So Aubree was very excited to give it to him for his birthday. If you've ever read an annoying book over and over to a kid, you know how an enjoyable kids book can be a gift.
