Lego instructions

Have you ever built legos from the instructions? Our kids usually build them first from the instructions, then eschew instructions and create their own, which I love. They get really detailed, and I love their creative and spatial reasoning skills; they are "master builders" :P

Bree has been building stuff with them for a long time, but the other day she was going through all the instruction books (stored away in a bin the kids never look at) and found the book for the lego duplo castle set.
She was able to sort through the pieces and build the set all by herself! RD watched her do it, and she recognized when she used a wrong piece and corrected it. Pretty cool she's got the spatial reasoning and sequential ordering abilities to do it alone! With all the work and worry about her language/delays, it's nice to have some reassurance her cognitive skills are age-appropriate.

Grace got some legos for her birthday party, and Bree started to put together her set (not with permission, but it was a horse set and too tempting) and got the feeding and grooming stations put together before getting frustrated and throwing the pieces all over.
