Christmas Eve

We missed sledding up in Idaho City this year. We had NO snow. :(
After our usual fish/bread/cheese dinner, we started making and decorating spritz cookies. Grace unfortunately wasn't feeling so well and went to bed early (!), so she missed out on our festivities. The kids all love to press out the cookies, but Bree was particularly delighted. There's not much cuter than a preschooler laughing and exclaiming in wonder over a cookie gun.

I was having problems loading my pics and accidentally deleted some of my favorite pics :(   Just know she really really loved that cookie gun!
This year we had larger sprinkles, which made decorating much tidier. Instead of spraying sprinkles everywhere, they placed them onto the cookies.  Besides the lid coming off as the jar was shaken over the table, there wasn't too much cleanup, woohoo. Cameron made one extra large wreath he specially decorated for himself, and RD managed to make a stacked tree he got dibs on.

The cookies actually have more sprinkles than the cookie sheets!

After getting them all cooked, we sang carols and read the Christmas story, and gave the kids some new pj's. Aubree doesn't like to stay still. Especially after cookies and new Hello Kitty pj's.

She joined Grace in their room, and we let the boys stay up to watch A Christmas Carol (the version with patrick stewart is my favorite) with us for the first time. They both enjoyed it, and it was great to share with them. We love Fred. I think that could be a new tradition.
We had wrapped gifts earlier in the week (the best idea yet; super helpful when we realize we only have 1 gifts for a kid, and 3 for everyone else) so setting them all out didn't take long, and we were in bed at a decent hour.

We had so much snow on Christmas Eve, that sledding in Idaho City was cancelled! 8 inches at our house! Not even the Mason family went.
