There's a gnome hiding in our garden...

For years RD has talked about wanting a gnome in our yard, but has never found the "perfect" gnome. It has to be smaller, look like stone/concrete, not be cutesy or have a welcome sign, and look weathered. He could be more specific. One day as he was dragged through a store with me, we went by the garden area, and passed by these small, gray gnomes. RD was intrigued, and we inspected them closer, and RD was won over. Not perfect, but close enough.
So we got one little gnome, and RD has delighted the kids by moving it around the yard to a different spot every couple weeks, for them to spot. One night as we were relaxing outside, they came up with a find the gnome game, taking turns hiding the gnome in the yard.

The best hiding spots were right under my chair, and above the door handle. The kids would spread out and look on the ground, so those two spots took awhile to be discovered. Kids were even right by the door, but the gnome was overlooked. Maybe it really is magic ;)

Except it got jolted and fell to the concrete patio, and  got a crumbly chunk taken out of the back of the hat. Should've been concrete.
Halfway through the game, this is how Aubree started 'covering her eyes', so RD had to help out. They played for a long time, but it finally got dark and we had to go in.

Since his gnome had gotten chipped, when we were at that store again, and there were a couple left on sale, we got a different one, just in case.
We have a gnome collection starting in our yard!  aaahh! can we still guffaw at pink flamingos?!

Maybe we should get some of these for the Lake house?
