He said he hardly slept that night cause he was excited for his day. He opened presents in the morning, and was busy the rest of the day reading and playing new books and games, which was great. We should do that every birthday.
Grandpa and Grandma were in town, and made it to our house in time for a hot dog, chips, and breadsticks dinner, (and a strawberry spinach salad he did not request) and pitched in some pizza for a real feast, which I liked better than hot dogs :)
Cameron had requested an ice cream cake with angel food cake. You know how angel food cake is so light and fluffy and amazing? well, it's get pretty squished under four layers of ice cream, and frozen angel food cake is even harder to saw through. It was pretty messy trying to cut and serve.
Since RD was gone for his birthday, we had his birthday party several days later. Mostly cause RD didn't want to miss his whole birthday celebration, but also cause RD is pretty invaluable during the boys birthday parties. Cameron's usually involves some water games, and RD is super fun, gets the games going, and totally gets targeted.
They played some games inside, then went out to do 'capture the flag' with water balloons, then water gun wars, and the slip'n'slide. The water fight proved the most popular, and everyone got soaked. I stopped going outside to take pictures, cause there was no mercy. The kids were all really nice (besides the ruthless water gun war), and it was a fun group (as someone who didn't get targeted and soaked :) )

So glad he was born to us; he is simply fantabulous!

Sounds fun! I'm the same way with Christian and kids' parties...I need the back up.
