So on Friday the PTO puts on an Art Night to show all the art projects done so far, and to do some fundraising by auctioning off some class art projects. The younger kids were excited about it, and Reese was interested in the appetizers. We got there for the first 45 min., and it already felt a bit crowded, but Grace was eager to show us her projects. and Aubree had to crash one of the pics.
We saw lots of people we know, weaving through the crush of families, trying to get in a few lines of chitchat before keeping up with kids beelining for their classrooms. It was a bit stressful. There was a string quartet playing from Timberline High, which was all teens we know from church, which was fun.
Cameron was willing to pose with his cool sarcophagus, and his class had descriptions by the art, which was very helpful.
Reese's class had made paper mache pigs, and he named his pig Professor Lupin. i didn't get a pic, but it was funny. They also had to draw self-portraits in Michelangelo style, upside down. One could tell the difference between kids who could reach the bottom of their desk (where the paper was taped) while laying on the floor, and those who couldn't quite reach. Reese couldn't quite reach, but he was a good sport about it.
