Last wednesday's paper had a little tidbit about the downpour we'd had for several days (and the previous days of just rain)
"Rainfall in Sitka Wednesday set a new single-day record for the date, with 2.32 inches measured at the Sitka airport. It was the wettest Sept. 1 in the 112 years records have been kept. ...Sitka is also on track for a new record rainfall for a September, Jacobs said. So far, less that two weeks into the month, 8.59 inches rain has been measured, just under the 11.75 inches average. The wettest September on record was 1991, when 15.14 inches fell."
It wasn't till we lived here that the primary song "rain is falling all around" became a familiar lullaby to Grace! We have to admit, we check the weather for Boise often, and hoorah at all the suns we see:)
