Got Water? So many don't....

About 8 months ago, Brigham Young University came up with a concept that would bring clean, fresh water to villages in third-world countries. WHOlives.org, a local non-profit organization, gave a challenge to the engineers at Brigham Young University to develop the idea they had - to create a human powered drill that could drill water wells up to 250 feet deep using only human power. This has NEVER been done before!

Well, as these articles show, they succeeded:

Why should we care?
• 884 million people lack access to safe water supplies; approximately one in eight
people.
• 3.575 million People die each year from water-related disease, 84% are children.
• Diarrhea causes 1.4 million children’s deaths every year. More than AIDS, malaria and measles combined.
• The ability to bring clean safe drinking water to impoverished nations is the number one concern of governments and NGO’s. Yet the problem still remainswholly unsolved.

As you can tell this drill changes everything, it will save millions of lives. What I’d like to ask is if you could participate with us in a little fundraiser. The funds will be used to transport the Village Drill to Tanzania and to start drilling these water wells in just a few weeks! They will be on the ground in Tanzania on May 14th, once there, they will begin manufacturing more drills and delivering more water wells to as many villages possible.

Debbie and I are working towards sponsoring a well which costs 2000-2500 dollars and looking for anyone interested in pooling together funds to make this happen.

100% of the funds raised will go toward getting the Village Drill operational and water delivered to those who need it most. I've been in contact with the director of the program and while you can never be 100% sure about organizations, he seemed genuine and honest, and BYU was willing to work with them as well.

Despite how expensive it is to live up here in Alaska, we felt that we could sacrifice some of what we take for granted in order to invest in the necessities of life for our fellow brothers and sisters. I hope that you can find a way to make a similar sacrifice, large or small. If you would like to contribute to this great cause, here's how:
1. A donor can go directly to their site WHOlives.org and donate under the “Get Involved” button. (They will be alerted real time as the donation is registered.)
2. They can mail the donation to 983 W. Grindewald Lane Midway, UT 84049
3. If you would like to help us sponsor a well, please email us and we can discuss it together.
This donation is tax-deductible.
Check out the videos above and on their website. I know we can make a huge difference here. Thanks for seriously considering it everyone!
