Island Picnic

Some friends took us out for a picnic on a nearby island, and was the kids first boat ride on a little skiff!! They had only been out on a boat once before, and were so excited about going! They way out was a bit wet with the spray, but we had a wonderful picnic roasting dogs and smores, and finding dozens of sea anemones and star fish in nearby pools. The way back was bit more dramati, as the engine had some hesistation going. Reese took those opportunities to wail, "we're doomed, we're going to die!" to play up the drama. Cameron was happy as could be whenever we were on the boat, getting wet or not, peering over as he hung on with a huge grin on his face. I loved watching him have such a fun time. Grace went limp for the first ride, and covered her face most of the time on the way back, but would always answer "good!" whenever we asked how she was. It was really nice to have a fun night with friends, and to get out in the water! Helps to feel like we're not so confined!
