This has been a very difficult week for us. RD lost a great friend, my wonderful friend lost her husband, and our kid's friends lost their dad. A coast guard helicopter crashed off Washington, and our friend and 2 more of the 4 man crew didn't make it home. One of the other crew was a man we often saw as a volunteer for community sports, whom we really appreciated and respected.
My friend is an amazing woman, so faithful and strong, but it is so hard to see this happen to her. They have two little boys, and she is eight months pregnant with their first daughter. The other man we know had three kids, the youngest about six months old. You can find out more about them and can donate to the coast guard fund for them, if you wish, here.

Heartache and heartbreak. We are so sorry for your loss. We feel a special connection to the Coast Guard. Your friends are in our prayers, as is your family. We hope you all can find some peace and comfort.
