Thimbleberry Geocache

We were tired of being stuck in the house last saturday, so we took a risk with the rain and headed out for a quick cache. It drizzled some of the time, but it wasn't too bad; we got these squall hats from Lands End that are awesome!!! they are waterproof, warm, AND they cover the kids hearing aids!! They are just so perfect for them. The cache was hidden in a tree stump that was behind a thick cover of brush; even the kids had a hard time getting through it! In the spring/summer when the brush is in foliage it'd be really hard to find that one. We found some cool treasures, geocoins and travel bugs, which the kids love to find. Going on the hikes really helps us feel less isolated, but sometimes I sure feel stuck on a rock! We're all really excited to go to Anchorage to have the kids see an audiologist to get hearing tests, aids reprogrammed, new earmolds, and get out of Sitka for a couple days! Even go to a Target or Walmart! I'm curious how it'll feel to come back; when we left Galena for a short trip out, I was so surprised to feel comfort at 'coming home'.
