Sheldon Jackson Museum

on a rainy morning together as a family, we decided to go check out the Sheldon Jackson museum, which has some really cool artifacts, including the raven helmet worn by Katlian when the Tlingits beat the Russians in the Russians offense against them here in Sitka, which Reese is posing by. Usually we're pretty realistic about what the kids can do, but that wasn't the best decision we've made....it was not kid-friendly, and was not a good experience. maybe we'll go back for a date or something, but if you ever visit, you should go there. (without kids!) It was a good collection.
Athabascan beading examples...Grace by teh Inupiat dolls, that kept her attention for a minuteSpruce root baskets, woven tight enough to hold water etcCanoe paddles, also used to direct singing and dances
