Soccer League!!!

Reese is in a short one-hour/week for five weeks soccer league, and it's been a lot of fun!!! He's been playing a lot of soccer with kids in our area, and with us, but I don't know anything to teach him, so it's been good to know what he can practice on. He loves going, and takes it pretty seriously. They practice moves for half an hour, then play small (4 on 4) games the other half hour. He's done pretty good learning and practicing his moves at home for his 'game', and it's been really neat to watch him play. At first he was fairly timid, and I worried whether he could hear the coach, the acoustics in this indoor field are so bad, but he seems to get the instructions. It has been so cool to see him gain some confidence in the abilities he does have, and feel good about real accomplishments. They are only 5-6 year olds, so they sometimes take the ball from their own teamates, which is funny, but Reese is starting to recognize what teamwork is. He's worked hard and made a couple goals each time, which is fun to see him giving thumbs up as he runs away afterwards. It's so awesome to see him grow, and be able to cheer him on in that!
